1 first cohort and 9 regular cohorts, allowing you to make fantastic legions each uniquely textured for Marian and Imperial reforms. I've also noticed that Kartli Axemen beat triarii and many hoplites 1v1 so I immagine that they can save cataphracts from some tough situations. Essentially, it allows you to recruit legionaries with titles. Boii can fix cav with heavy horse and kill them with levy freemen, and Tylis can do the same with raiding horsemen. Iceni vs Egypt) would lead to s later but much grander war. Choosing a factions that will dominate either side of the map, (I.e. Bactria and Seleucids) would lead to an early on fight for domination, thus leaving a single player by Mid game. Choosing two factions that start close (I.e. A clever player with a strong cav faction can win with good micro (probably needing an early general snipe), but both Tylis and Boii have levy freeman. Id say it depends on what you want to come of the campaign. I've chosen Armenia over Parthia because they have the Persian cav, which means that they have some shock cav that can carry them while waiting for the eastern cataphracts. Obviously these factions, Rome in particular, are weak in Cav. I've discarded Macedon because the companions are unlocked in the very late game. The hellenic cataphracts are better than the eastern, so for the majority of the campaign the Seleucids will actually have better cav than Armenians. Armenia has the best cataphracts but they are unlocked very late in the campaign, whereas the Seleucids have slightly worse cataphracts but are unlocked a lot earlier. From what I've noticed the 2 main contenders are the Seleucids and Armenia. Think we missed one? Give us a Modmail and suggest new Subreddits to add to the lists!
